As a board-certified registered dietitian, I enjoy helping clients reach their health goals while embracing the foods they love. I've found this is critical to helping people change their behavior in ways that are both sustainable and healthy. That can't be done by asking someone to radically change their diet or abandon foods they grew up with and love.
I start the relationship with by assessing where my clients are in their lives. We talk about how much time and money they spend on food and food preparation before I recommend changes. Whether the goal is to manage a chronic condition like diabetes or heart disease, or to lose weight, I can help clients reach their goals without giving up the joy of food. Everything I recommend relies on current evidence-based research and clinical work.
In my spare time, I read, play video games, travel and play instruments, including the piano and ukulele. I also enjoy challenging myself in the kitchen and learning about different cuisines from around the world. Although I am a Florida native who loves swimming in the ocean, I have come to enjoy hiking in North Carolina mountains.
