As a registered and licensed dietitian nutritionist, I realize my approach to caring for patients must be as unique as they are. I will do my best to make my time with patients effective and enjoyable.
As a result of having my own Type 1 diabetes diagnosis, I began having first-hand experiences with dietitians and other medical professionals at a young age. The help I received inspired me to want to help others in a meaningful way.
I have been involved in fundraising for diabetes nonprofit organizations since 2007. My research on food security and food literacy among college students can be found in the Journal of American College Health.
I grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania and attended Penn State University. I later attended graduate school in North Carolina, fell in love with the Tar Heel state and decided to stay here.
I spend my free time visiting my twin sister, hiking, and trying new restaurants and foods.
