PMC PGY1 Pharmacy Residency

At Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center our PGY1 residency program strives to develop pharmacy clinicians who provide optimal patient care and safety. Upon graduation the resident is able to provide quality professional leadership skills along with competent functionality in various pharmacy practice roles.

Program description

The primary focus of the Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center (NHPMC) PGY1 pharmacy residency program is to develop the resident into a competent clinical practitioner who will contribute to positive patient outcomes. Its purpose is to prepare its pharmacy residency graduates to assume positions as clinical staff pharmacists working in the acute care setting, or to pursue second year post-graduate training for residents who desire to work in specialized areas of pharmacy practice. NHPMC is part of a corporate pharmacy system in a community hospital setting that provides residents with integrated patient care opportunities, as well as strong committee involvement with strengths in internal medicine, cardiology, oncology, and pediatrics.
