PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency (FMC)

Program description

At Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, our PGY2 oncology residency program strives to develop clinicians who provide optimal patient care and safety. Upon graduation, the resident is able to exhibit quality professional leadership skills along with clinical excellence in oncology pharmacy. The resident will participate in a team-based care model alongside pharmacists who care for patients with cancer across two-states and more than a dozen oncology practice sites. Our PGY2 oncology residency program offers a wide array of experiences in inpatient and outpatient oncology via the Novant Health Cancer Institute; investigational research and specialty pharmacy through our dually accredited Novant Health Specialty pharmacies.

Active involvement on hospital, department, and service line committees centered around safety, quality improvement, and formulary review

Program completion

Upon completion, residents will have gained the following skills:
  • Management of, and improvement in, the medication use process
  • Proficient leadership and practice management skills
  • Provision of optimal and cost-effective patient-centered medication therapy management as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team
