Why Novant: The ID residency at Novant Health provides such a well-rounded experience with opportunities in ID consult, stewardship, HIV/HepC, Pediatric ID, Immunocompromised patients, and much more. With my interests focused on antimicrobial stewardship, Novant was the perfect choice for me as it has a well-developed system-wide stewardship program with the opportunity to cover multiple hospitals and provide weekend stewardship coverage for the system. As a PGY1 at Novant, I had a great experience working with all of the pharmacy and ID team members, and was thrilled to be able to stay on for a second year with this remarkable team!
Things to do for fun: Exploring local restaurants and breweries with my co-residents, and weekend trips to Lake Norman or hiking at the state parks
