Program description
The PGY2 critical care pharmacy residency at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center is a 12-month ASHP-accredited program that provides the resident with advanced training in a variety of critical care settings. The purpose of the program is to instill and develop the skills necessary to practice independently as a member of the interdisciplinary critical care team. The resident will have the opportunity to become integrated into our advanced pharmacy practice model, providing pharmacy consult services to providers and patients, including pharmacokinetic dosing, renal dosing and documentation of interdisciplinary recommendations in the medical record. Our PGY2 critical care residency program offers experience in surgical, medical, cardiology, neurology, nephrology, emergency medicine, infectious disease, and neonatology practice areas. The program allows flexibility to meet the needs and interests of each individual resident while also providing a quality foundation in developing professional practice skills.
