Area of interest: Diabetes, Anticoagulation, Heart Failure
Research project: Impact of patient-specific clinical and demographic characteristics on meeting the HEDIS measure of Osteoporosis Management in Women Who Had a Fracture
Why Novant: When I first started looking for residency programs, I knew that I wanted to pursue a program that could offer a variety of clinical rotations focused in the ambulatory care setting, so I was immediately attracted to Novant Health’s PGY1 in Ambulatory Care program. I wanted to be a part of a program that nurtures its residents and that shares the same desire to provide excellent care to its patients. Additionally, I wanted knowledgeable and personable preceptors that would facilitate my development into a competent and confident clinical pharmacist and teacher. I felt immediately welcomed by the preceptors, current residents and members of the pharmacy administration into this program. Over this next year, I am looking forward to being challenged in clinical rotations and research and for all of the different teaching opportunities through local schools of pharmacy. I am so excited to be part of this excellent program, and I am confident that Novant Health will provide me with the experiences that I need to reach my professional goals.
