Six applicants are accepted into the Novant Health Family Medicine Residency Program each year. All rotations will take place in the north Charlotte area. We accept applications through the ERAS system each fall. Our program is accredited by both the ACGME and the AOA.

The Novant Health Family Medicine Residency Program will participate in and abide by the policies of the National Resident Matching Program.

A. All applications must be received through ERAS via the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) application. Applications must include:

  • Completed ERAS application form
  • Medical School transcript or course work
  • Three letters of recommendation in addition to the dean's Letter
  • USMLE or COMLEX scores
  • Personal statement

B. Applicants must have graduated from an accredited medical school within two years of application to the program.

C. Applicants must have passed USMLE/COMLEX Step II to enter residency training. Step I must be passed at the time of application and Step II must be completed and passed prior to the rank list deadline.

D. Early applications are encouraged and only applications received before December 31 of the recruiting year will be considered.

E. Novant Health currently does not sponsor any visas. Citizenship documentation must be provided to the Novant Health Graduate Medical Education (GME) Office for verification.
