Medical

Choice is invaluable, especially when it comes to your medical coverage. Novant Health has always made choice a key feature of our benefits approach because we understand team members have a variety of family situations and preferences. Team members can choose from three medical plan options. All preventive care will be covered at 100%. You'll also be eligible to receive incentives for participating in our well-being program. Our benefit plan encourages and rewards you for setting healthy goals and making progress toward reaching those goals.

Pharmacy

When you take the right medicine the right way, it can be a safe and effective tool for good health. WellDyne is the pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) for the Bind and Cigna medical plans. WellDyne is a full-service PBM with all major retail pharmacies in their network. Prescriptions for specialty medications are filled by the Novant Health specialty pharmacies by calling 1-855-307-6868. Non-specialty prescriptions may be filled at any of the 9,500 Walgreens locations and pay the tier 1 copay price. Walgreens Express delivery is another option and must be coordinated through the Walgreens pharmacy at 255 Charlois Boulevard in Winston Salem, NC by calling 336-718-1044.

FSA

A FSA is a flexible spending account that allows you to take home a larger paycheck by reducing your taxable income. When you enroll you contribute tax-free dollars into an account that can be used throughout the year on qualified medical, dental and vision or qualified dependent care expenses--reducing out-of-pocket costs.

Novant Health offers two different types of accounts: a medical FSA that covers general purpose health expenses and a dependent care FSA* that lets participants save money on day care expenses for children up to age 13 or a disabled spouse or dependent of any age. 

For 2021 the annual maximum contribution to a health care flexible spending account will be $2,750, and for a dependent care flexible spending account the annual maximum contribution will be $5,000*.

*SPECIAL NOTE: In accordance with Federal Tax Guidelines, the plan is subject to a non-discrimination test that may reduce the maximum amount of contribution that a highly compensated team member may set aside. When applicable, human resources will notify the team member as soon as possible after the plan year begins.
