Novant Health provides 1 X your base pay in life insurance at no cost to the employee. Maximum coverage amount is $1 million.
Additional Supplemental Life insurance can be purchased in the following increments 1 x base pay, 2 x base pay or 3 X base pay or 4 X base pay. The maximum amount of supplemental life insurance is $500,000.
Supplemental life insurance is guaranteed issue if elected within the first 31 days of eligibility. Electing outside of your initial eligibility window will require evidence of insurability.
Life insurance coverage is also available for your spouse and children.
All benefits eligible team members, including NHMG physicians, will be defaulted to the short-term disability plan (STD) that has a 30-day waiting period. This coverage will be guaranteed issue and does not require successful completion of the evidence of insurability process. The Novant Health STD plan pays a benefit of 60% of your base pay, up to $1,500 per week. During your initial eligibility window you can choose to remain in the default 30-day plan, enroll in the 15-day waiting period plan or opt out of the coverage. STD is a voluntary benefit and team members pay the full cost of having the coverage. Electing outside of your initial eligibility window will require evidence of insurability.
Novant Health provides long term disability at no cost to you. The plan pays a benefit of 60% of your base pay, after a 90 day waiting period, with a maximum benefit of $15,000 per month.
Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage is available as employee only or family coverage. Coverage options range from $25,000 to $500,000. AD&D coverage is guaranteed issue and not subject to evidence of insurability.
