As Executive Vice President and Chief Digital & Information Officer at Novant Health, Onyeka N. Nchege leads the strategic vision and execution of enterprise-wide technology and digital innovation. He is responsible for advancing consumer capabilities, modernizing clinical solutions, and driving transformative digital strategies that enhance care delivery, strengthen operational performance and support organizational growth.
With nearly 30 years of experience in information technology and digital leadership, Nchege is known for delivering enterprise value through forward-thinking solutions, business alignment, and operational excellence. His leadership spans digital transformation, IT infrastructure, data strategy, cybersecurity, innovation, and enterprise technology modernization—ensuring technology serves as a strategic enabler across the organization.
Nchege’s leadership continues to earn industry recognition. He has been named a Healthcare Finalist for the 2026 National ORBIE Awards, following Novant Health’s recognition as a 2025 Digital Health Most Wired recipient and the organization’s 2025 Carolina CISO ORBIE Award as Large Enterprise Winner. These honors reflect his commitment to digital excellence, cybersecurity maturity, innovation and technology-enabled care.
Prior to his current role, Nchege held CIO positions at industry-leading organizations including Toyota Industries Commercial Finance, Coca-Cola Consolidated, Interstate Batteries, and The Cooper Institute. In each role, he successfully designed and implemented digital roadmaps aligned with business priorities and delivered measurable results.
A recognized leader in his field, Nchege was honored as the 2024 Carolina ORBIE CIO of the Year. He actively contributes to the broader technology and business community through his service on the Apparo CXO Tech Council, the Truveta Board of Directors, and the Blumenthal Board of Directors.
Nchege is a graduate of Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business.
