David Haufler

As executive vice president, chief commercial officer and president, Novant Health Enterprises, David Haufler optimizes and diversifies revenue streams while translating top-line growth into sustainable operating cash flow and margin performance. He collaborates with leaders and teams across regions, institutes, facilities and service lines to align commercial priorities with Novant Health’s enterprise strategy and drive disciplined execution across the system. Haufler also oversees the organization’s transaction portfolio, strategic portfolio review process, mergers and acquisitions, ambulatory surgery portfolio development and optimization, and Certificate of Need (CON) growth initiatives, ensuring commercial growth is tightly linked to long-term financial performance and enterprise value creation for Novant Health, its patients, partners and communities. 

Prior to Novant Health, Haufler was a leader with Protiviti, a management consulting firm for clients across various industries, including healthcare. As managing director and global transaction advisory services practice leader, he led transaction deals and value creation plans for Fortune 500 clients. Haufler has also held integration leadership roles at Capital One and AstraZeneca.

Haufler earned an undergraduate degree in accounting and finance from Xavier University and an MBA from Penn State University with a concentration in entrepreneurship and finance. He is also a graduate of the Executive Development Program at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
