David Haufler

As executive vice president and chief transaction officer, David Haufler leads Novant Health’s strategic growth initiatives, helping to shape and expand access to care systemwide. Directing operations for Novant Health Enterprises, Novant Health’s strategic business division, Haufler is critical in driving diversified revenue streams and transformational capabilities for the health system through a variety of transactions, including acquisitions, partnerships, mergers and investments. He is also overseeing Novant Health’s ambulatory surgery and urgent care centers, incorporating physicians into strategic planning and offering more convenient, affordable care for Novant Health’s patients, partners and communities.

Prior to Novant Health, Haufler was a leader with Protiviti, a management consulting firm for clients across various industries, including healthcare. As managing director and global transaction advisory services practice leader, he led transaction deals and value creation plans for Fortune 500 clients. Haufler has also held integration leadership roles at Capital One and AstraZeneca.

Haufler earned an undergraduate degree in accounting and finance from Xavier University and an MBA from Penn State University with a concentration in entrepreneurship and finance. He is also a graduate of the Executive Development Program at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
