We offer a variety of educational opportunities that can teach you about diabetes and how to manage it. Since there is no cure for diabetes, self-management plays a big part in helping you live a healthy and active life. Our programs meet the national standards of diabetes self-management training and have been recognized by the American Diabetes Association. Our programs include:

  • Diabetes and pregnancy program – This program is made up of three-hour group sessions designed to provide in-depth education on managing gestational diabetes and preexisting diabetes and pregnancy. Common topics covered include exercise, risks to the baby, stress management, nutrition and insulin instruction.

  • Insulin administration training – This training session will help you learn insulin types, peak times, and administration. You will also learn how to monitor your glucose levels and how diets and exercise can help you live a healthier life.

  • Taking charge of your diabetes: the basics – If you have been recently diagnosed with diabetes or if you have never had any proper training on how to manage it, this course can help you. This four-hour group covers important topics like nutrition, meal planning, foot care, exercise, sick-day guidelines, goal setting and medications.
