Surgical Outcomes
Novant Health hospitals and physicians are nationally recognized leaders in healthcare quality and service. When you and your physician determine that surgery is necessary to improve your health, you want to know what hospital provides the best outcomes following the procedure.

One of the best ways to assess the success rate your hospital has with surgical outcomes is to evaluate data collected by independent sources. That's why Novant Health voluntarily participates in programs to measure our success with surgical outcomes through the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP).

The ACS National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS NSQIP) is the first nationally validated, risk-adjusted, outcomes-based program to measure and improve the quality of surgical care. Hospitals that participate in NSQIP can compare surgical outcomes against other hospitals around the country.

All surgeries involve risk and the possibility of complications. While some patients have higher risk than others, some of these complications may be preventable. Our goal is to always be better than the national benchmark.
