WINSTON-SALEM & CHARLOTTE - Novant Health, the not-for-profit health system that includes Presbyterian Hospital and its affiliates, has named Charlotte businesswoman Krista S. Tillman to serve on the Novant Board of Trustees.

Tillman is president of BellSouth's North Carolina Operations. She has been with the company since 1979.

"Our health system's board will greatly benefit from Krista's background in communications and business operations," commented Paul Wiles, Novant Health President and CEO. "She's also very active in community service and in education, which are two perspectives that will continue to help guide healthcare governing bodies."

Tillman recently served on Presbyterian Healthcare's Board of Trustees. She is a graduate of Georgia State University and she earned her Masters from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Some of her civic work includes board and leadership roles with Charlotte Center City Partners, the Foundation of UNC at Charlotte, Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology and North Carolina Blumenthal Performing Arts Center. In addition, Tillman currently serves as Chairman of the UNC-Wilmington Board of Trustees.

Novant Health consists of eight hospitals in North Carolina's Charlotte, Triad and southeastern regions: Presbyterian Hospital, Presbyterian Orthopaedic Hospital, Presbyterian Hospital Huntersville and Presbyterian Hospital Matthews of the Charlotte area; Forsyth Medical Center, Medical Park Hospital and Thomasville Medical Center in the Triad region; and Brunswick Community Hospital along the coast. Other facilities and programs of Novant Health include two nursing home and senior residential facilities, 125 physician clinics, outpatient surgery and diagnostic centers, rehabilitation programs and community health outreach programs.
