knowledge is your most useful tool. Located in Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center's physician plaza - 10030 Gilead Road, Suite B120, Huntersville, NC 28078 - Novant Health Diabetes Center offers a variety of
programs that can teach you how to control the disease’s impact on
your daily life. The programs we offer include:
- Living with diabetes – If you are living with diabetes, this
self-management program will teach you important steps to leading an
active and independent life. Some of the useful topics covered
include: controlling your blood sugars, eating healthy, staying
active and stress management.
- Gestational diabetes – If you are an expectant mother with diabetes, you
will be given information about gestational diabetes, health eating,
home blood glucose monitoring, being active and insulin
administration (if needed).
- Insulin pump training – If you need to learn the skills necessary to wear
an insulin pump, this training program is ideal for you. You will be
taught how to operate the pump and how to monitor your glucose
Treating and preventing diabetes
Maintaining a healthy weight, exercising, eating a healthy diet and reducing stress are important when it comes to treating and preventing diabetes; we will give you the tools you need to successfully make these lifestyle changes. We also help identify risk factors for diabetes and conduct diabetes screenings if you are at risk of developing the disease.
