Recently, I was a patient at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center for a cardiac ablation procedure to treat atrial fibrillation. I had a similar procedure twice before in the Washington, DC area. While my earlier experiences were very good, they did not include the attention to detail that the team at Presbyterian Medical Center provided me, such as a written, step-by-step paper with instructions and an hour-by-hour chart of where I needed to be. They escorted me from each departure point to the next step. The team checked and rechecked every item on my profile so all errors and omissions were detected and corrected, and so much more. The people at Presbyterian Medical Center were amazing. There was a combination of efficiency and warmth that was always missing in my previous hospital experiences...even in admitting.
The whole experience was very well planned, comfortable and carefully executed. I never felt like I was just another insurance card to bill against. I was in and out...but never rushed. This really went a long way toward relieving anxiety that my wife and I felt. I especially want to recognize Dr. Kevin Hsu at the Novant Health Heart & Vascular Institute plus Kam and Lisa in the cardiovascular unit at Presbyterian Medical Center. Thank you!
