Amy and Overton Harper named 2015 Outstanding Emerging Philanthropists

Winston-Salem, N.C., Nov. 10 – On Nov. 9, Amy and Overton Harper were recognized as the 2015 Outstanding Emerging Philanthropists by the Triad Chapter of Fundraising Professionals. The award recipients were recognized during the National Philanthropy Day Luncheon at the Grandover Resort & Conference Center in Greensboro. Amy and Overton are generous donors to Novant Health Foundation Kernersville Medical Center.

Novant Health announces dually accredited family medicine residency program

Charlotte, NC, Nov. 10, 2015 – Beginning in 2016, residents who want to practice family medicine will have an opportunity to complete their training with the Novant Health Family Medicine Residency in Cornelius, North Carolina. The family medicine residency faculty members are actively interviewing fourth year medical students – six of whom will become Novant Health’s first resident physicians in July 2016.

Novant Health Franklin Medical Center to close

LOUISBURG, NC – Oct. 7, 2015 - Novant Health Franklin Medical Center announced today that it will cease operations Oct. 16, 2015, following several years of declining utilization. Hospital leaders have notified the state and are working closely with patients on an individual basis to coordinate ongoing care. Hospital employees will have access to outplacement assistance from the North Carolina Department of Commerce, which may include job fairs, financial planning workshops, interest/aptitude assessments and other specialized services.Read More
