What to expect when it’s time to leave the hospital
your child is admitted to Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center
or Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital, you will be asked questions to help
the healthcare team identify if your child will need additional
assistance after being discharged. We will work with you, your family
and the physician to plan for the discharge during the entire time
your child is in the hospital.
If you have concerns about how to manage your child’s recovery after
he or she is discharged, please call
physician will determine when your child is ready to go home and will
provide you with written authorization of discharge. At that time,
your physician or nurse will review any instructions for follow-up
care with you. You will receive a copy of these instructions.
