Convenient and comfortable outpatient infusion services

The outpatient infusion center at Novant Health Haymarket Medical Center provides short- and long-term infusion therapy for adults and children in a comfortable setting. The center is designed to provide therapy to patients who may not require hospitalization or prefer the ease and convenience of clinical appointments.

We provide therapy for the following conditions / diseases:

  • Anemia
  • Osteoporosis
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Infection
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Crohn's / Ulcerative colitis

  • Antibiotic, antifungal and antiviral therapies
  • Remicade
  • Hemophilia factors
  • Neupogen, Neulasta, Aranesp
  • Vaccinations
  • IV steroids
  • Iron therapy
  • Platelet transfusions
  • IV hydration
  • Central line care / blood draws
  • IV immune globulin (IG)
  • Anti-emetic therapy
  • Monitoring of first doses of medications
  • Zometa

Transfusion patients

Type and crossmatch is done in our outpatient lab and MUST be done within 72 hours prior to transfusion. The prescription for the test is given by your physician.

DO NOT remove the red band – for any reason – until instructed to do so.

Medications

Medications should be taken as ordered. Questions related to current medication(s) should be directed to the prescribing physician. Patients should plan to bring their own home medications, including pain medicine if you will require a dose during your treatment.

Location and directions

The outpatient infusion center is conveniently located on the first floor of Haymarket Medical Center, located near the intersection of I-66 and Route 15. The center is open seven days a week, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. by appointment only.
