Geriatric behavioral health studies

Our inpatient services focus on identifying and stabilizing behavioral issues for adults age 55 and older, including:

  • Anxiety
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Dementia
  • Depression
  • Schizophrenia

Depression and other emotional illnesses are treatable, especially if dealt with early. An initial patient assessment will assist the team of nurses, social workers and therapists, under the direction and supervision of a psychiatrist, to support you or your loved one.

After the assessment, a treatment plan is mutually agreed upon within 24 hours of admission. The treatment plan includes the coordination of medical and psychiatric needs. We also provide individualized nursing care, group therapy, medication management and education and consultation to other disciplines as needed. The focus of treatment is restoring your quality of life and improving your day-to-day management of symptoms.
