Weight management

Women strive to maintain a healthy weight and stay fit, but it isn’t always easy.  Through our Healthy Family Program, our doctors and nutritionists can help you take control and maintain your desired healthy weight. The Healthy Family Program helps the whole family adopt a healthier lifestyle through education, counseling, family involvement and group support.

Bariatric medicine

Bariatric medicine is a surgical tool to assist overweight individuals with weight loss. Patients who combine bariatric surgery with lifestyle changes, including an improved diet and exercise, can experience complete and safe weight loss.

Online nutrition journal

We have a new, online nutrition tracker where you can manage your nutritional goals. You can track your weight loss, your food intake and eating patterns in order to establish a healthier lifestyle and nutrition pattern and to assist in the prevention of disease.

Lifestyle modification programs

Our wellness center can also help you improve your well-being and reduce your risk of disease and illness. Our state-of-the-art facility provides access to health risk assessments, biometric and preventative screenings and a wellness gym. We also offer on-site lifestyle modification programs, including:

  • Weight management: Get the information, tools, support and guidance you need to reduce body weight, improve overall health and create a new, healthy lifestyle.
  • Stress management: Identify the warning signs and symptoms of stress, the effects of stress on health, relaxation exercises and techniques to reduce stress.
  • Smoking cessation: Help identity triggers for smoking, evaluate your readiness to quit while and take advantage of the best techniques to maximize success.

KidSmart®

KidSmart logoAs parents, we are all concerned about our children's health. Today's fast-paced lifestyle makes it harder than ever to ensure that our kids get the nutrition and exercise they need.

KidSmart® is a program of the Forsyth Medical Center. The program's goal is to help children and their families learn about making healthy food and lifestyle choices in a fun way.

KidSmart articles

KidSmart articles are produced throughout the year by Forsyth Medical Center. Topics include healthy eating and nutrition, weight management and positive body image, and a variety of other issues that are important for women and their families. The articles can be great resources to share with teachers, play groups, kid's camps, sports clubs and other places where parents gather. To view the articles, you will need to have Adobe Reader on your computer. If you do not have a PDF reader, you can download one for free.

Women with disabilities

Forsyth Medical Center handles the care of women with disabilities to meet their needs for accessibility just like every woman we treat. Appointments, screenings and exams are available with specially designed equipment for ease of access, and no woman is declined treatment due to a disability. We recognize that every person is different, each is shaped by unique life experiences and abilities and each deserves the same remarkable care.
