VHA Central Atlantic recognized Novant Health with 13 awards for excellence in clinical care, honoring nine facilities for meeting or exceeding national performance standards and improving the patient experience. Nine Novant Health hospitals were honored for improving patient care quality and safety in the areas of MRSA reduction, reducing preventable heart failure readmissions and falls with injury reductions. Four system hospitals each won two awards.

Generates $623 million in tax revenues

An economic impact analysis commissioned by Novant Health and completed by the Center for Healthcare Economics and Policy (which is a separate business unit of the Economics Practice of FTI Consulting, Inc.) revealed the organization’s activities generated nearly $5.9 billion of economic activity in the state of North Carolina in 2012.

Cigna (NYSE:CI) and Novant Health, an integrated system of hospitals and physician practices, have launched a collaborative accountable care initiative to improve patient access to health care, enhance care coordination, and achieve the "triple aim" of improved health, affordability and patient experience. The program is effective April 1.
