Ernest A. Codman Award
In 2004 and again in 2008, The Joint Commission awarded Novant Health the prestigious Ernest A. Codman Award. The 2004 award honored Novant's work to reduce medical complications in patients taking blood thinning medications, while the 2008 award recognized our efforts to reduce MRSA, a resistant staph infection, through a successful hand hygiene compliance initiative.

VHA President's Award
Novant Health was awarded the 2009 President's Award by VHA, a national organization of 1,400 not-for-profit hospitals and 21,000 other healthcare organizations whose mission it is to assists its members in quality improvements, for achieving clinical excellence and outstanding supply chain management.

2009 Team Approaches in Quality Improvement Award
Novant Health was the recipient of the 2009 Team Approaches in Quality Improvement Award from the Society of Hospital Medicine. Novant was recognized for its multidisciplinary team approach to improve medication safety within its acute care facilities.

PRC President's Award
Novant Health received the 2011 President's Award from Professional Research Consultants (PRC), a nationally known healthcare research company. Novant was honored for its success in permeating a customer-focused culture of service excellence throughout the organization.
